Korean Red Ginseng is one specific form of Panax Ginseng.

Chinese medicine identifies Korean Red Ginseng as having more male life energy (yin)  as opposed to female life energy (yang).  It is well known for its powerful ability to dramatically improve erectile dysfunction in men, and to increase sexual performance, libido and fertility in men. It is legitimately effective in these respects. That’s not to say it can\t be used by women or that it has no benefit for women, but generally speaking, men will benefit more using Red Ginseng (male energy), and women benefit more using White Ginseng (female energy).

There are many different types of Ginseng, many types of Panax Ginseng, and many types of Red Ginseng, and Korean Red Ginseng should not be confused with any of these other forms of Ginseng or Red Ginseng (for instance, Chinese Red Ginseng is not the same as Korean Red Ginseng).

All types of ginseng are very healthy for the human body.  They all act as an overall tonic for the body, and are great for supplying a healthy source of energy in the body. It has been said by natural health experts that every one would benefit from taking some form of Ginseng.

It is the Korean Red Ginseng that is most beneficial to men with Erectile dysfunction (ED).

However, Korean Red Ginseng also has other health benefits for men (as well as some lesser known benefits for women, which we’ll discuss later in this article).

Red ginseng is known to increase sperm count and sperm motility making it effective for treating infertility problems in men.

Korean red ginseng also encourages blood flow to the penis and improves the response of the nervous system thereby improving the quality of erections. Because of these benefits, the use of red ginseng for erectile dysfunction has gained importance. Red ginseng also improves for libido and enhances sex drive. The use of ginseng heightens satisfaction levels and makes lovemaking a more pleasurable experience.

In addition to increasing sexual performance and libido in men, Red Ginseng also increases, physical stamina, mental and physical alertness in men, women and children. In fact, Korean Red Ginseng may be given to children to enhance energy levels and to improve immune response. It  helps in improving brain functioning thereby enhancing mental alertness, concentration levels and retention power.

The ginsenosides present in red ginseng help the body to withstand the strain of mental, biological and physical stress. They also henhance endurance levels as well as coordination and muscle tone and sharpen the reflexes. These changes lead to a boost in energy levels. Because of these many benefits, athletes often use red ginseng for energy in order to improve their athletic performance.

Red Ginseng also has anti-cancer properties. Regular use is believed to lower ones risk of developing cancer. Red ginseng is used for cancer treatment as it helps inhibit the further growth of cancer cells. It is also believed to be beneficial in converting abnormal cancer cells into normal cells. Red ginseng also reduces the risk of a relapse of various forms of cancer by strengthening the body.

Korean Red Ginseng is believed to be beneficial in the treatment of type 2 diabetes as it helps reduce the level of glucose in the blood stream and aids in the metabolism of carbohydrates in diabetic patients. It helps controls cortisol levels too thus preventing a stress related rise in blood sugar levels.

Although Red Ginseng is considered the male form of Ginseng and White Ginseng the female form, red ginseng does deliver some benefits for women.  Red ginseng promotes the production of estrogen, reducing symptoms that accompany menopause as a result of a decrease in estrogen levels. During the reproductive phase of a woman’s life, red ginseng is used to strengthen the uterine muscles and ensure that the uterus receives a good supply of blood. It also helps in boosting sexual drive in women.
